Taylor Swift’s “Mean” Music Video Up For An MTV Video Music Award

Taylor Swift’s “Mean” music video is up for an MTV Video Music Award! Taylor took to Twitter to share her excitement for the nomination:

"Wait, what?! The ‘Mean’ video got nominated for a VMA!! BEYOND excited. If you feel like voting…… MTV.com "

The MTV video Music Awards will air on MTV on Sunday, August 28th at 9pm ET/PT. Be sure to vote for Taylor’s music video and then tune in to see the results!

Why is Taylor so excited?

On Ryan Seacrest's morning show Taylor dished on why was she so excited lately. Here's what she had to say: “It’s been absolutely unbelievable…such a whirlwind summer being on my first headlining tour, and the CMA announcement and bringing home the first VMA award to Nashville. I’m just REALLY proud of that. Country music has never gotten a VMA award before and I’m so excited to have that happen and to know that there’s a moonman on its way to Nashville!” Congratulations Taylor for everything that you have achieved and for everything you are gonna achieve! ;)

Cangrats to the best country stars ever!(Well in my book they are!) Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift are nominated for MTV Video Music Awards! Taylor’s song “You Belong With Me” is up for Best Female Video and Miley’s “7 Things” is up for Best Editing. I wish them best of luck for the awards! Taylor will perform at the VMAs!!

Taylor Swift will perform live at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards later this summer.
The country crooner is the first performer to be confirmed for the awards show, set for Sept. 13 in New York City.
The performance will be Taylor’s first at the VMAs — and she couldn’t be more excited to take center stage.
“I’m so excited that MTV and the VMAs have invited me to perform, because I think this year’s show will be unlike anything they’ve ever done!” Taylor says.
“I love incorporating theatrics into my performances and the VMAs have always allowed artists to run with that. MTV has been so good to me, and I could not be more excited about this year’s VMAs.”
