Holy Hedwig!Recently, India's been having major problems with a dwindling owl population... and they're blaming Harry Potter for the crisis.
"Following [the book's popularity], there seems to be a strange fascination even among the urban middle classes for presenting their children with owls as pets," said one of the country's officials.
And that's not all: Apparently, people have become more curious about the magical properties of owls, wondering whether these finely feathered friends have "mystical energy."
